How does the Net Zero Certification Programme work?

Our Net Zero Certification Programme guides you through a structured process to help your organisation achieve net zero. This includes measuring your carbon footprint, supporting you to set net zero targets, creating a bespoke Net Zero Transition Plan and supporting you to implement solutions to achieve your decarbonisation goals. 

Which frameworks does Planet Mark align to?

Our Net Zero Certification Programme is officially recognised by the UNFCCC as a Cooperative Climate Initiative and is aligned with the principles of the Science Based Targets initiative Corporate Net Zero Standard. Planet Mark’s measurement methodology is fully aligned to Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and all data is verified with evidence provided by the Member. 

For climate legislation support, including Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) and Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) please see our bespoke services designed to meet your compliance requirements. 

What support is available?

You will receive comprehensive support, including guides and toolkits, training, drop-in sessions, Member networking events and ongoing guidance from our sustainability experts. 

Which Membership Package is right for me?

Our membership model has been designed to enable companies to make meaningful strides towards net zero and progress through the 4 levels of certification within our Net Zero Certification Programme.  

Each of the five Membership Packages are designed to give you the best possible wrap-around support, resources and tools to be able to progress you through the 4 certification levels of our Net Zero Certification Programme, embed sustainability into the fabric of your organisation, and ultimately achieve net zero.  

The Net Zero Certification Programme comprises of 4 certification levels, with 5 Membership packages, each designed to progress your organisation from one certification level to the next. 

Business Certification 
The first step on your journey is Planet Mark Certified – Business, where we will support you to measure your Scope 1 and  Scope 2 carbon emissions. 

For organisations looking to improve their carbon data reporting, our Business Certification (Advanced)  Membership package is designed to measure your full carbon footprint including all Scope 3 categories. At this point you will then have your net zero baseline. 

Net Zero Committed Certification 
Once you have your net zero baseline, we will support you to set realistic but ambitious near-term and long-term net zero targets and develop a Net Zero Transition Plan. 

Net Zero Aligned Certification 
Next we’ll support you in making demonstratable progress towards net zero by completing a series of actions listed in your Net Zero Transition Plan to reach your near-term targets. 

Net Zero Achieved Certification   
Having achieved your near-term targets, our expert team will guide you in achieving the long-term target set out in your Net Zero Transition Plan. 

How much does membership cost?
