TBT Marketing, a full service digital, creative, and marketing agency, has achieved Planet Mark certification.
This is TBT Marketing’s second year of business carbon footprint reporting and certification to Planet Mark. It first calculated the carbon footprint of its Frome office operations for the year ending December 2019 and set a target to reduce emissions by 5% annually.
TBT Marketing’s total location-based carbon footprint for the year ending December 2020 was 35.6 tCO2e, a decrease of 10.4% from the year ending 2020. The relative location-based carbon footprint was 0.72 tCO2e per employee, an increase of 1.7% compared to the year ending 2020.
The carbon emissions saved by TBT this year are the same as would be emitted by a car driving 10,000 miles.
“To make change in such challenging circumstances as 2020 is inspiring. TBT has embraced sustainability wholeheartedly over the past two years, so these impressive results come as little surprise to me. TBT serve as an example that companies can make rapid sustainable change in all areas of their business. Their passion is incredible and the team is a delight to work with. I congratulate them wholeheartedly on the progress made this year.”
TBT has embedded a future-focused approach to its client work and marketing, putting sustainability at the heart of every business decision and marketing solution. The agency has made a public commitment to be a net-zero carbon business by 2025, launching Mission Zero, a crack team of employees to champion ways in which to its sustainable transition, to achieve this goal. TBT also has a renewed focus on assisting GreenTech organisations in their communications, taking sustainable action outside of its own walls.
Marketers, communicators and agencies have an important role to play in society’s sustainable transition. A low-carbon economy requires everyone to contribute, and taking uninitiated individuals, companies and organisations on the necessary journey to climate awareness lies at the feet of communicators. But marketers must do more than tell stories, they must demonstrate their own environmental credentials, creating robust and measurable progress to accompany sustainable communications practice.
As part of the Planet Mark certification, TBT marketing has committed to making a year-on-year reduction.
As part of TBT Marketing’s wider sustainability strategy, the company has committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions.
