Description

The Operations Director will direct and manage the Operations activities of the organisation. This includes planning and overseeing policies, governance, and operational compliance.  Leading all service delivery activities across our unique three-step process (Measure, Engage and Communicate) and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

This individual will inspire, motivate and empower others, building a high-performance culture leading and supporting transformational change in both business and culture. As a member of the Executive Team, the Operations Director will contribute to strategic development of the organisation to become a strong and valued partner. The successful candidate will be a strong, experienced leader of operations with a record of leading forward-facing operations and services.



The post holder will ensure that quality and compliance systems are robust, supportive of current activities and facilitate high quality delivery of services and support future growth across the business. The Operations Director will also have experience developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve maximum impact in support of the growth aspirations of the Chief Executive and Board. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the service delivery operations of the organisation and make any necessary changes to meet business goals and projections.  
  • Manage and guide the Heads of Department sitting within Measure, Engage and Communicate areas of the business and ensure optimal performance within their teams
  • Act as the company’s main adviser on all issues relating to operational functions and keeping abreast of latest developments to ensure that the Company maintains its competitive position.  
  • Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organisational vision and operational strategy.  
  • Develop and translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organisation-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning.  
  • Liaising between the organisation and clients, for quality assurance purposes.  
  • Regularly reviewing operations to ensure they meet required standards and recommend changes where necessary.  
  • Promoting effective and clear internal and external communications.   
  • Measuring the efficiency of, and report on, operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators.  
  • Work with management to grow the business, formulate strategies and prepare any documents/reports needed for investment/growth.  

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experienced and skilled in operating within a quality management system.
  • Knowledge and experience of working to ISO 9000 as a minimum, knowledge of ISO 17065 and ISO 17025 is advantageous.
  • Experience of process improvements, transformation and customer added value.
  • Experience in managing departments and managing and supporting managers of people.
  • Knowledge and understanding of sustainability, particularly for business.
  • Previous experience of owning and running the operations of an organisation that delivers services to other businesses.  
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and experience in successful implementation of these.
  • Experience in managing operations internationally would be advantageous.

Description

The Quality Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining a quality assurance system for Planet Mark and ensuring that policies and procedures are in line with regulatory, certification and ethical standards. Through managing the quality management system, the Quality Manager is tasked with the obligation to ensure all company products (including reports and advisory services) meet the customers’expectations and demands.Tasks include document control and revision; management and execution of external and internal audits; corrective and preventive actions; management review;procedural improvement and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining the company Quality Management System in line with UKAS and equivalent international quality standards (ISO 17065 Conformity Assessment)
  • Work with any of the company’s sub-contractors to ensure their management systems are within the scope of accreditation.
  •  Responsible for planning and conducting regular quality meetings to ensure the quality management committee and staff are informed on quality issues.
  • Undertaking internal quality audits
  • Monitoring the ongoing performance and outputs of the quality process
  • Researching and reviewing customer feedback and use this to change any quality processes.
  • Any other duties assigned as the company deem appropriate
  • Responsible for all communications pertaining to quality processes and procedures
  • Management of internal auditing of processes and procedures to ensure they are robust and fit for purpose.
  • Responsible for process improvements and continuity of service.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experienced in an accredited Quality Management System.
  • Experienced and skilled in ISO 17065 quality standards.

Description

We are looking for a confident, energetic and inspiring Engagement Executive to deliver workshops, talks and certificate presentations to members of Planet Mark both online and in person. You will be joining our growing Engagement Team, responsible for the ‘Engage’ element of our 3-step programme (Measure, Engage, Communicate).

This step supports our members to embed sustainability at the core of their organisations, unlocking the talent, knowledge,and passion among their employees. We achieve this by providing a range of Engagement services,including online workshops, events, and bespoke advisory services.  

 

Successful applicants will have experience delivering engaging workshops and have a knowledge and passion for sustainability in business. Reporting into our Head of Engagement, you will be delivering workshops to our members where the content already exists (for example, our Annual Sustainability Energiser workshop) and be able to quickly adjust content to the relevant audience. As our portfolio of Engagement workshops grow and new content is developed, you will be supported to deliver new workshops.    

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver our core engagement workshops digitally (and to some degree in person when circumstances allow). 
  • Prepare presentation decks and documentation using approved templates for workshops.
  • Host the workshop space using Zoom or MS Teams. 
  • Remain up to date with current sustainability news and developments so that you can refresh and update content regularly. 
  • Remain up to date with our members progress and annual certification to ensure understanding of their business and sustainability ambitions to apply in workshops.  
  • Record outputs from engagement activities in our systems.
  • Support the Engagement team’s ambition of ensuring our members feel inspired and empowered to reduce their carbon footprint and increase social value. 
  • Identify areas to improve engagement activities and suggest these to the team.
  • Support facilitation or technical support for external events on behalf of Planet Mark  
  • Member account management

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years-experience in a similar role 
  • Strong knowledge of digital platforms used for presenting and workshops. 
  • Experience in delivering workshops, presenting, and facilitating.   
  • Experience in engaging people in sustainability actions in a business environment 
  • Proficient use of online communication platforms (mainly Zoom), Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of managing customer accounts and providing excellent customer service.
  • Highly organised and process driven, can quickly learn and adopt new technology. 
  • Able to quickly understand the products and services of the business and be willing to learn more about our market. 
  • Great relationship builder, influencer and collaborator. 
  • Be infectiously enthusiastic, inspiring and passionate about sustainability and driving change.

Description

We are looking for an experienced carbon analyst with an exceptional eye for detail, and almost super-human data analyst skills, to assist our growing Certification team.  The Certification team forms the heart of the Planet Mark, analysing our clients’ Scope 1, 2 and 3 data to allow their accreditation to the prestigious Planet Mark certification scheme. As well as working with their data you will be dealing directly with our clients that range from start-ups, SMEs to large corporates, delivering carbon footprint analyses, carbon footprint verifications, SECR submissions, social value calculations, Scope 3 screening and more. Hence experience in client management is also essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting carbon footprint assessments and reporting using sustainability management software – from dealing with the client’s initial data submission, any data deficient, analysing their footprint and preparing and delivering their report.
  • Conducting verifications of GHG assessments completed by third-party analysts to ensure quality and undertaking non-financial reporting in terms of Social Value analysis.
  • Assisting in the preparation of tenders for advisory services
  • Project management and delivery of sustainability consulting that is primarily data and footprint based, including scope 3 screening, SECR, sustainability engagement, research and policy and Net-Zero Carbon planning
  • Client relationship management

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in carbon footprint accounting and knowledge of greenhouse gas reporting and standards e.g. GHG Protocol, ISO 14064
  • Experience in audit/verifications of corporate carbon footprints using a variety of standards, including ideally ISO 14064-3
  • Strong mathematical and analytical background
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven track-record of success
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and excellent IT skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
  • Demonstrable work experience within corporate sustainability and environmental management services.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of SECR, experience in scope 3 screening, development, and delivery of sustainability strategies for businesses
  • Experience in preparing and winning proposals and projects for sustainability consulting
  • Experience working with large, multinational companies, either in house or as consultancy
  • Experience in sustainability engagement and communications
  • Experience with sustainability software e.g., Sofi Salesforce
  • Industry qualification (e.g., IEMA)
