The #ZeroCarbonTour is back on the road from 31 August. We’ll be sharing the net zero message with communities all the way to COP26 in Glasgow in November.

After a successful first leg on the Zero Carbon Tour, which saw the Carbon Battle Bus visit 11 locations, from London to Cornwall, and engage with over 500 people, the UK’s first electric coach will hit the road again on 31 August.

We kicked off our Tour with a virtual event in May hosted by University of Greenwich, and physical events at Guildhall in London with our partners Heart of the City. After finishing up our first stops in London, we visited our partners at the Eden Project in Cornwall in the 100% electric Carbon Battle Bus. Our journey and frustration with the charging network highlighted the need to increase investment, government policies and roll out of net zero solutions including EV charging.

The last few days of the Tour were spent visiting our members; finding out their sustainability achievements and targets to encourage meaningful action among the business community. Find out more here.

This next leg, kicking off in Cambridge, will travel across the whole of the UK over 12 weeks, culminating in Glasgow for COP26 in November. Along the way we’ll be sharing the net zero message and gathering the “carbon stories” of the inspiring actions and initiatives being taken by organisations, community groups, services and individuals in creating a sustainable, brighter future.

Earlier this year, we announced our partnership with the UN-backed Race to Zero and Together for Our Planet campaigns, the world’s largest alliance of actors committed to halving global emissions by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050 at the latest. Thousands of organisations have already made net zero commitments, and the Tour aims to build upon this by supporting businesses to understand what net zero carbon means, why it is important and the business benefits.

We are looking forward to the next leg of the Tour as we reach more communities across the UK, and hear from businesses, organisations and individuals who are sparking meaningful change. Together, we are contributing to a brighter future. You can too. Find out how you can get involved in the Tour on our website here. You can also subscribe to our Tour newsletter here.
