Certification story

The full-service design and architecture studio specialises in the exterior and interior of yachts, air-craft, residential and commercial properties.

This is Winch Design’s second year of business carbon footprint recording. The total carbon footprint in year ending December 2018 was 71.2 tCO2e. This equates to 0.8 tCO2e per employee for the rela-tive carbon footprint.

The studio calculated the emissions of its London office operations (all four buildings included: The Old Fire Station, The Old Power Station, T01 and Tideway Yard) for the year ending December 2018 and set a target to reduce emissions by 5% annually. This year’s footprint includes emissions from energy use in the building (natural gas and purchased electricity), waste disposal, water usage and paper at the four offices aforementioned and the new acquired site at Prospect Studios.

Electricity emissions account for 67% of total emissions followed by natural gas and waste which ac-counts for 14% respectively.

Future targets
