Certification story

Ultimate (Commercial Interiors) Ltd, a company providing innovative interior fit-out including furniture design and consultancy, has achieved Planet Mark certification.

Achieving the Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders.

Over the next year, Ultimate will be working towards reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others. By being more strategic about its environmental responsibility, it will be able to significantly increase its positive impact and hope to encourage continual improvements within its community.

Steve Malkin
Founder and CEO
Planet Mark
“Ultimate has taken a huge step forward in its sustainability strategy. The company is already well-versed on many issues, with its products and designs integrating sustainable principles. Now, the company’s clients can rest assured that all of Ultimate’s operations are sustainably oriented. Ultimate is positioning itself as a sustainable leader in the industry, and it is a pleasure to be a part of that journey.”

As a responsible contractor it, Ultimate believes it is in its best interests, both from the point of the environment and best value, to harness good working practice, minimise waste and investigate environmentally friendly products. Ultimate works with clients to establish the environmental impact which the project or work activities may have. Ultimate also prioritises environmentally-sound products and brands during the procurement of goods and services, consciously partnering with sustainable brands to provide clients with the best service, for them and the planet.

Interior design and fit-out companies have a lot to gain from sustainable practice. By providing products and services with a people-centred approach, companies can reduce health-related costs and reduce staff turnover. Wellbeing and sustainability are interlinked pieces of the puzzle that can promote safe, healthy and thriving buildings for occupants and owners. Interior design companies that embrace sustainable design can not only help reduce their emissions, but also improve the quality of their service.
