Certification story

TRE office helps businesses make environmentally smart solutions by providing the most sustainable equipment whilst not sacrificing productivity or cost. Their printers increase productivity by over 25% while reducing CO2 by an average of 89% and reducing energy by 78% on average. As well as supplying ethical products, the company promotes a more sustainable world by supporting Forest Schools in the Local Community and ocean clean up projects.

Companies are increasingly turning to their supply chains to ensure their environmental standards extend throughout their business operations. Companies in the office supplies space should embrace the opportunity presented by the world’s move to low carbon processes. As a supplier, there is an opportunity to set precedent on the solutions to continue office life in a sustainable way. Companies that embrace this opportunity stand to do well not by the planet, but by key performance metrics, too.

Case Study

Best Newcomer

With over 60 year’s experience, Tre Office provides sustainable solutions for all printer, stationery and general office equipment needs, helping businesses reduce costs, boost efficiency and improve their carbon footprint.

Tre Office recognises that one of the biggest contributors to environment damage in the 21st century is modern business and industry, so they support businesses by providing the most sustainable equipment whilst not sacrificing productivity or cost.

Tre Office evaluates the impact of materials used by manufacturers and the CO2 emissions of the devices. They use this information to support their clients to reduce their printing CO2 emissions, while increasing productivity. Their range of office furniture sources sustainable materials.

Tre Office has a vision that spreads way past office printers and reducing their customers’ energy output and plastic waste, to educating companies and organisations to the point that laser printers will be seen as bad for the environment as diesel engines. New technology sparks conversations changing mindsets and traditional ways of working.

Building on this dialogue they have set up the  ‘Tre 2 U’ initiative that connects their clients with social responsibility projects to leave an authentic legacy way beyond printers. All clients receive reports every quarter detailing environmental savings and are paired up with a social responsibility project. Tre Office donates to that project on their client’s behalf every time they visit the client onsite.

Tre Office quickly realised that they needed data to evidence their positive changes and to record progress, so set up a new way of working that monitors their output, involving their suppliers, clients and projects.

They now measure and monitor electricity bills, paper usage, packaging and transport and have increased their social responsibility projects by 30%. Every client engagement that creates a carbon footprint is not offset but is negated by donations to one of 22 projects.

As they continue their journey, Tre Office has noticed that their employees have begun to make personal changes, from switching their utility provider to reducing personal use of single-use plastics. Self-employed employees have made the switch to electric vehicles. Suppliers have shared their environmental goals, governance and targets, changing their delivery and installation process to reduce transit.

The eco-friendly equipment options Tre Office provides to offices, boardrooms and education providers also support the change to remote working and virtual meetings that are reducing the need to travel and related emissions.

Tre Office is encouraged by the progress and positive response they have received both from their own company and the clients they work with. They are committed to building on this success, sharing ideas and continuing to take steps towards a better future.
