Certification story

The Furniture Practice, an independent furniture company with locations in London, Manchester, and New York, has achieved Planet Mark certification.

Achieving the Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders.

The Furniture Practice is committed to the highest quality service and sustainable practice throughout its business. From its core business practices in repairing rather than simply replacing, to engaging its supply chain through low-carbon couriers, to leading switch-off initiatives among its staff, sustainability is seen as a principle that can extend right through the business.

Businesses are increasingly looking toward their supply chains for sustainable solutions. In a world where climate change and environmental concerns are rapidly rising, B2B companies must realise the potential of a robust and rigorous approach to sustainability, both for client retention and for acquisition. Forward-thinking businesses must realise the success in aligning a profitable and planet friendly agenda.

Steve Malkin
Founder and CEO
Planet Mark
“The Furniture Practice has made great progress in the most challenging of years. Sustainability is at the core of all the practice’s business practices; their whole team is conscious of its impact on the planet as they go about their jobs. I applaud the continuous improvement in sustainability and hope to see more great work in the coming years.”

Going beyond

Through Planet Mark, Altrad has protected endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth directly supports the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

It has also helped the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.

Future targets
