Startle Music, a company that provides bespoke, innovative engagement technology for the music industry, has achieved Planet Mark certification.
This is Startle Music’s second year of business carbon footprint reporting and Planet Mark certification. Since certifying to Planet Mark, the company has set a target to reduce emissions by 5% annually.
Startle Music’s total carbon footprint in the year ending December 2021 was 11.1 tCO2e, a reduction of 42%. Startle Music’s total carbon per employee in the year ending 2020 was 1.1 tCO2e, a reduction of 48%.
“Startle Music is doing tremendous work on its sustainability programme. The company started its journey with some fantastic work, including offsetting its current emissions. However, offsets must be complemented with cuts in carbon emissions, and Startle is also achieving that. I’m proud to work with Startle and assist them on this journey.”
Startle was founded with the desire to be a positive company built in. Since its conception, having a positive impact on the world has always been a consideration in how it operates and the choices made. Beyond the commitment to measure and reduce carbon, sustainable policies include offsetting its employees’ working and personal carbon footprint and planting 11,565 trees to aid reforestation projects.
Business leaders continually rank climate change among the most important issues facing industry in the modern day. As businesses seek to measure and mitigate their impact on the planet, they increasingly turn to their supply chains for sustainable solutions. B2B companies must be reactive to this shift in business model. A strong sustainability policy is no longer purely about planetary wellness, it can be a useful asset in acquiring and retaining a business’ client base.
As part of the Planet Mark certification, Startle Music has committed to make a year-on-year reduction.
