Legal services provider Sharpe Pritchard LLP has achieved the Planet Mark certification. The firm recognises its responsibilities and the potential impact of business operations on the environment and the local community. Working with Planet Mark, it is committed to embedding sustainable practices throughout its business operations.
Over the next year, the firm will be working towards reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others. By being more strategic about its environmental responsibility, Sharpe Pritchard LLP will be able to significantly increase its positive impact and hopes to encourage continual improvements within its community.
The company has also measured its social value contributions. This refers to the net social and environmental benefits generated by its team. Measuring its social value gives a holistic insight into its positive contributions to not only the environment but also to society, demonstrating its commitment to meaningfully contribute to a better planet for all.
Through Planet Mark, it has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth directly supports the Asháninka community in Central Peru.
It has also helped the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
To recertify next year Sharpe Pritchard LLP must reduce emissions by 2.5%.
A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
