“Congratulations to Las Bodegas on Planet Mark certification. Las Bodegas is an ambitious company with the right mindset for a sustainable transition, and I’m delighted that Planet Mark can assist in forging their low-carbon future. The team is dedicated to real change, and I’m inspired by their passion for the planet. I look forward to working more with the team and seeing the results of their work.”
“Las Bodegas is committed to doing everything we can to reduce our emissions in every step of our business and supply chain. The climate crisis is real and we have to do our bit to look after our planet. As a small business, we are all passionate about the environment and climate change and we need assistance to realise our goal of net zero by 2030. This is where Planet Mark have been invaluable; they have lent us their expertise to make sure we are asking the right questions of our suppliers and challenging us to improve continuously. We are at the beginning of our sustainability journey and at the heart of this is our new, sustainable wine project, Green Roots Wine, launching in February 2022.”
Las Bodegas has made a number of commitments to sustainability beyond the pledge to reduce its emissions by 5% year-on-year. As well as its goal of reaching net zero by 2030, it has also pledged to conserve an acre of endangered rainforest through a collaboration with Cool Earth.
As part of the Planet Mark programme, Las Bodegas has donated the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
The food and drink industry has an important role to play in reaching global climate goals. Suppliers and traders in the industry must become conscious of their emissions, both in their own operations and in their supply chain. A sustainability strategy that provides measured and achievable targets can help turn sustainable ambition into reality.
To recertify next year Las Bodegas must reduce emissions by 2.5%.
A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
Las Bodegas has made a public commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
