Leading property development and land promotion company Jaynic has has achieved the Planet Mark certification.
Sustainability and the environment are at the core of Jaynic’s development philosophy. It considers and minimises the impact of its developments, from design and construction through to their operation by its occupiers.
Building on its existing commitment, the company is committed to continuous improvement, identifying ways to improve business operations while reducing its carbon emissions and impact on the environment.
Understanding and measuring its carbon footprint is the first step in identifying ways to minimise its impact on the planet. Over the coming years, Jaynic will be working towards reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others.
By being more strategic about its environmental responsibility, the company will be able to significantly increase its positive impact and hope to encourage continual improvements within its community.
Through Planet Mark, it has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.
It has also helped the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
To recertify next year Jaynic must reduce emissions by 2.5%.
A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
