Certification story

ISG, global construction specialists delivering work in fit out, technology and construction, has achieved Planet Mark certification.

ISG calculated the carbon footprint of their offices, sites and accommodation related to UK and international ISG sites over which ISG have financial control for the year ending December 2019. ISG has set a target to reduce emissions by 5% annually.

ISG’s total location-based carbon footprint for the year ending December 2019 was 13,162.8 tCO2e and the relative carbon footprint was 4.3 tCO2e per employee. ISG’s market-based total carbon footprint for the year ending December 2019 was 12,400.5 tCO2e and the relative market-based footprint was 4.1 tCO2e per employee.

If ISG achieves their carbon reduction target, it will save the carbon equivalent of burning 330,000kg of coal.

Steve Malkin
Planet Mark
“I’m delighted to announce ISG has joined Planet Mark. The company not only recognises its ability to enact positive change on its own operations, but also acknowledges the role and responsibility it has to engage its supply chain, too. It is committed to doing things the right way. ISG is a welcome addition to the Planet Mark community.”

Certification story

ISG is committed to driving revolutionary change in the construction industry, promoting the sustainability agenda through its own business operations, and supporting its clients to achieve their sustainable business goals. As well as the commitment to measure and reduce its carbon footprint, ISG works with several organisations to help promote its sustainability, such as the Supply Chain Sustainability School, the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability; as well as being a member of the Considerate Constructors scheme.

Constructors have a huge opportunity to benefit from sustainable practice. In a decade of climate action, innovative companies will stand to gain the most as standards, and the demands of customers and building occupiers, continue to evolve. The industry has the ability to impact on at least one fifth of the UK’s emissions, and pioneering companies must think environmentally to meet modern demand. This includes working within their own organisations, with their stakeholders and in their supply chains, to create whole-life sustainable construction projects.

Future targets
