“Goodman has continued to excel as a sustainable company, and this year is no exception. In its ninth year with Planet Mark, the company has surpassed expectations once again. The continued success is only possible through real dedication to lowering emissions throughout an entire organisation. Congratulations once again to Goodman on another stellar year.”
“As a global property company, our role is to deliver a more sustainable future and one that leads to positive economic, environmental and social outcomes for our business, stakeholders and the planet. Our involvement with Planet Mark has helped us to assess and review our operational carbon footprint and make positive changes for our business as a whole. In 2020 we accelerated our commitments to be carbon neutral and use 100% renewable energy in our operations by 2025, and will continue to increase our targets, recognising the opportunities this brings.”
At Goodman, sustainability is about long-term thinking and leadership. The company views sustainability as an approach that leads to positive economic, environmental and social outcomes for its business, its stakeholders and the world more broadly. Goodman has set ambitious goals such as using 100% renewable energy by 2025 and continues to increase its proportion of rooftop solar into its own electricity use each year.
The built environment is a major contributor to climate change across the world, and contributes to 20% of CO2 emissions in the UK. Properties that are designed and managed smartly and with sustainability in mind are better prepared for tomorrow’s challenges, both in terms of cutting operational emissions, supporting customer requirements and creating healthier, more resilient buildings for the occupants. It is no surprise that such properties have higher occupancy rates. The property industry is primed for a sustainable revolution that can places business and the environment hand in hand.
As part of the Planet Mark certification, Goodman has committed to make a year-on-year reduction.
Goodman has accelerated its commitments to be carbon neutral and use 100% renewable energy in its operations by 2025.
