Glencar Construction, a developer of high quality logistics, industrial and distribution facilities has achieved the Planet Mark. Achieving the Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders.
Glencar Construction works in a sustainable manner, using its influence with its supply chains and customers to make informed decisions and use materials and ways of working which mitigate at every possible opportunity.
This is the company’s first year of carbon reporting with Planet Mark. Its total carbon footprint in the year ending December 2021 was 561.1 tCO2e and the total carbon per employee was 18.4 tCO2e. Since certifying, Glencar Construction has committed to reducing its emission by 5%.
Over the next year, the company will be working towards reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others.
Through Planet Mark, Glencar Construction has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth directly supports the Asháninka community in Central Peru.
It has also helped the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
As part of the Planet Mark certification, Glencar Construction has committed to making a year-on-year reduction.
