DOC Cleaning Limited, a privately owned, family run company, that provide a range of cleaning and associated services to a wide range of prestigious and landmark locations throughout London, the South East & the Home Counties, has achieved Planet Mark certification.
This is DOC Cleaning Ltd’s first year of business carbon footprint reporting and certification to The Planet Mark. DOC Cleaning’s total carbon footprint in the year ending March 2019 was 38.0 tCO2e and the relative carbon footprint was 0.9 tCO2e per employee.
This year’s footprint includes emissions from purchased electricity, transmission & distribution losses, water, waste, fuel used by the fleet, business travel and printing paper.
Fleet travel accounts for 64.1% of the total carbon emissions, electricity accounts for 7.9%. Scope 3 emissions (T&D losses, waste, water, paper and business travel) accounts for 28.0% of total emissions.
DOC Cleaning also measured its Social Value contribution this year. In the year ending 2019 the contribution was £752,715. It reported on 6 Social Value measures with the top two contributors being employing local employees and procurement from local SMEs.

DOC’s first year is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders.

To minimise its environmental impact and comply with all legislation, the company has specific policies and procedures in place to achieve accreditation with the Environmental Management System ISO 14001, as well as introducing a range of biodegradable and environmentally friendly products.
