Certification story

Bristol has long been viewed as a compassionate, contemporary and socially conscious enterprise. The company embraces sustainability, which is a natural fit with its existing philosophy to connect with people. Bristol’s aim is to be as open with its strategy and results of becoming the most sustainable company as it possibly can. The company publishes its strategy, goals and data as it relates to its sustainability initiative.

Bristol is also proud to form a sustainability committee of members who are leading the Bristol Global Mobility Sustainability initiative. Each person on the committee is a passionate advocate for change and committed to driving the global mobility industry forward into a better future where sustainable mobility is possible in all forms.

Case Study

Sustainability Transparency

Bristol’s mission ‘Connect versus Control®’ encapsulates the value they place on building and managing relationships, and providing human resources on a global basis.

Authentic and meaningful human connection fuels the heart of Bristol and sets them apart from its competitors.  They believe the strongest relationships are built upon a foundation of trust, empathy, understanding and connection symbolised by their pineapple logo.

Bristol is proud of its reputation as a compassionate, contemporary and socially conscious enterprise. Embracing sustainability is a natural fit with their existing philosophy and they aim to be open with their strategy and results to become the most sustainable company they possibly can.

Bristol Global Mobility’s commitment to sustainability began in June 2020 with the election of a Sustainability Communication committee. This committee has laid out a roadmap for future sustainability plans and targets, and how these will be communicated. They believe that transparency is vital for their success and are working with their suppliers, clients and peers to understand and drive good practice whilst making effective change

Bristol has a dedicated sustainability page on its website to share its final sustainability strategy report, and certification and is working with Planet Mark and Just One to deliver a transparent message. In this section of the website, they will publish every step of their journey to ensure complete transparency of action and progress.

Bristol’s sustainability journey started by accurately recording its carbon footprint and sharing its progress to reduce carbon emissions on its LinkedIn and Instagram social media pages. As well as their dedicated sustainability webpage they have an internal messaging facility via their portal ‘The Core’. They aim to highlight every step of their sustainability journey to engage their audience to ask questions and to ultimately join them in making an environmental difference. In line with its mission to connect rather than control, Bristol seeks to use this strategy to support and encourage, sharing challenges and triumphs.

As the world opens up and Bristol is able to attend conferences again they intend to tell the story of their progress in person.

Bristol will measure the effectiveness of their communication through metrics and feedback and has been excited by the response so far, demonstrating an impactful start to their visibility in this area. They aim to keep up the momentum with webinars and workshops and connect with suppliers to share advice, and guidance and support them on their own sustainability journey. They have planned a campaign to openly discuss their emissions data with a strategy for 2025 to support and learn from others.

The transparency Bristol has created with their leadership team within Bristol and suppliers has gained some really fascinating conversations and garnered a lot of support, along with educational opportunities for some of the more complex topics; they are encouraged that their growth in this area has already been significant.

Bristol Global Mobility hopes that by sharing their sustainability journey, both highs and lows, problems and successes, they will motivate and inspire others to take the first small steps that will lead to giant strides. Working together rather than in isolation is incredibly powerful, and together Bristol and their partners are moving forward to ensure that their business is part of the sustainable solution.
