Certification story

Brett Martin, a supplier of plastic products for the construction, fabrication, print and display sectors has achieved the Planet Mark certification. Throughout its years of operation, the company has strived to engage in a positive way with local communities and ensure its employees are fully informed and involved in its ongoing CSR activities.

At Brett Martin, it has a number of key objectives to minimise the impact that its production process and finished products have on the environment. From reducing energy consumption and using renewable energy sources to ensuring recyclable waste materials are recycled and promoting sound environmental practices to its employees, supplies, partners and customers.

As part of its wider sustainability strategy, Brett Martin will be measuring and reducing the impact of its business operations. Achieving Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders. Over the next year, the company will be working towards measuring and reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others.

The company will also measure its social value contributions. This refers to the net social and environmental benefits generated by its team. Measuring its social value gives a holistic insight into its positive contributions to not only the environment but also to society, demonstrating its commitment to meaningfully contribute to a better planet for all.

Through Planet Mark, Brett Martin will be protecting an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

It will also be helping the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
