Certification story

The scarcity of quality plant-based ice cream was the catalyst for the founder’s journey into professional ice cream making. Beau’s Ice Cream was founded on the mission to create feel-good gelato that celebrates simplicity and sustainability.

One of the foundational principles for their work is to tread as lightly as possible from a sustainability perspective. The founders are adamant that there is no point in starting something if it will cause more harm than good. Therefore, every business decision they make is driven by the need for sustainable action; from fully recycle packaging and innovative sustainable packaging material to ensuring the raw ingredients they source are fairly traded.

In this crucial Decade of Action, the company wants to ensure that they are a force for good: positively transforming society and the planet by measuring its own impact on the environment. Over the next year, Beau’s Ice Cream will be working closely with Planet Mark to reduce its carbon emissions and environmental impact.

Through Planet Mark, the company are protecting an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

The company is also helping the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future. Beau’s Ice Cram looks forward to sharing its sustainability achievements with the wider community.
