We recognise that transparent communication is essential for transformational change and we quantifiably contribute to 9 SDG.
The Bailie Group, a group of agencies and consultancies with the collective mission to invest in ideas and people who make a positive difference and properties that inspire, has achieved Planet Mark certification.
Achieving the Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations by measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and engaging its stakeholders.
In this Decade of Action, the company wants to ensure that they are a force for good: positively transforming society and the planet by measuring its own impact on the environment.
The Bailie Group has also measured its social value contributions. This refers to the net social and environmental benefits generated by their team. Measuring social value gives a holistic insight into its positive contributions to not only the environment but also to society, demonstrating its commitment to meaningfully contribute to a better planet for all.
Over the next year, the Bailie Group will continue reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others. By being more strategic about its environmental responsibility, it will be able to significantly increase its positive impact and hope to encourage continual improvements within its community.
“I’m delighted to see The Baillie Group achieve Planet Mark certification. The Group is dedicated to positive change in every respect, and the team understands the need for action on climate. With climate targets in place, I am looking forward to working with the team to measure and reduce their carbon footprint every year. Congratulations to the team for laying the foundations for a new way of doing business.”
“Our Group ethos is around making a positive difference — improving our environmental credentials is at the very heart of that, which is why we’ve signed up to the United Nations-recognised SME Climate Hub. Making a bold pledge to reach net zero by 2050, and to halve our emissions by 2030, we knew that we’d need external expertise and, importantly, we wanted to be held accountable — to ensure that we reach our targets and honour our commitments. Planet Mark has proven invaluable in that sense, helping us to devise a plan and stick to it. We’re really proud to have achieved such a prestigious certification and we look forward to working collaboratively to reach our goals.”
As a Group, Baillie’s purpose is simple: invest in ideas and people who make a positive difference and properties that inspire. The Group has significantly invested in projects which enable group companies to thrive and grow, whilst making a positive contribution to their communities.
The Group is profoundly conscious of the threat climate change poses to the economy, nature and society at large and has committed to take action immediately in order to halve its greenhouse gas emissions before 2030 and achieve net zero emissions before 2050. In doing so, the Group is proud to be recognised by the United Nations Race to Zero campaign, and join governments, businesses, cities, regions, and universities around the world that share the same mission.
Through Planet Mark, The Baillie Group has protected an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth directly supports the Asháninka community in Central Peru.
It has also helped the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
To recertify next year The Bailie Group must reduce emissions by 2.5%.
A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
The Bailie Group has made a public commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
