Certification story

Royal Warrant Holder Apex Lifts & Escalator Engineers Ltd has achieved the Planet Mark certification. The company is dedicated to continuous improvement, identifying ways to improve business operations while reducing its carbon emissions and impact on the environment.

Understanding and measuring its carbon footprint is the first step in identifying ways to minimise its impact on the planet. Over the coming years, Apex Lifts will be working towards reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others.

The company has also measured its social value contributions. This refers to the net social and environmental benefits generated by its team. Measuring its social value gives a holistic insight into its positive contributions to not only the environment but also to society, demonstrating its commitment to meaningfully contribute to a better planet for all.

Through Planet Mark, it has protected endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

It has also helped the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.

Future targets

Reduce carbon emissions by at least 2.5% each year

To recertify next year Apex Lifts must reduce emissions by 2.5%.

Aim to reduce carbon emissions by 5% each year

A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
