We engage our employees and wider stakeholders to unlock their talent and knowledge to drive year on year progress in sustainability.
We recognise that transparent communication is essential for transformational change and we quantifiably contribute to 5 SDG.
Since the firm’s inception in 1906, Anderson & Sheppard’s mission has been simple, focused and immutable: to be the tailor of choice for men who wish to dress in comfortable, understated elegance.
In this Decade of Action, the company wants to ensure that they are a force for good: positively transforming society and the planet by measuring its own impact on the environment.
Understanding and measuring its carbon footprint is the first step in identifying ways to minimise its impact on the planet. Achieving Planet Mark is based on the commitment to continuous improvement in sustainability in its business operations and engaging its stakeholders. Over the next year, Anderson & Sheppard will be working towards reducing its carbon emissions and sharing its journey with its community to inspire others.
Through Planet Mark, it will be protecting an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth; a charity working alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation. Its pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.
It will also be helping the Eden Project – an educational charity building connections with each other and the living world, exploring how we can work together towards a better future.
To recertify next year Anderson & Sheppard must reduce emissions by 2.5%.
A 5% year-on-year reduction is the target reduction recommended by Planet Mark.
