Abbey Business Interiors, providers of workplace and hospitality furnishing and fit out services to some of the UK’s best-known businesses, has achieved Planet Mark certification.
This is the ninth year of business carbon footprint reporting and Planet Mark certification. Since certifying to Planet Mark, the company has set a target to reduce emissions by 5% annually.
Abbey’s total carbon footprint in the year ending December 2020 was 70.8 tCO2e, a decrease of 43.6% from the year ending 2019. Abbey’s total carbon per employee in the year ending 2020 was 2.38 tCO2e, a decrease of 29.5%.
The carbon saved by Abbey Business Interiors this year is the same amount captured by 44 acres of forest.

Abbey Business Interiors has already achieved significant greenhouse gas emission savings through its year-on-year commitment to carbon footprint reductions. Its achievements are communicated to employees, shareholders and clients, as well as its supply chain. The company is also carrying out an employee engagement programme to both raise awareness and reduce the personal carbon footprints of its employees and their families.
