To help you make continual progress and demonstrate sustainability value, we have a team of expert sustainability consultants who can provide advice, workshops and bespoke planning.
Our team consists of experts in environmental and social measurement, business transformation, engagement, sustainability strategy, communication, design, copywriting and brand development. We have crafted the best solutions for you to choose from across our three steps to sustainability progress:
We know that all our members are at their own stage of their sustainability journey, and we have a range of advisory services that can offer you additional support; from engagement with your stakeholders to the measurement of your social value. These advisory services can be added to your existing certification.
Our Zero Carbon Solutions will de-mystify the subject of net zero carbon emissions and will support your business in reaching it. No matter what stage in your net zero journey you are on, from committing to a target to creating the action plan needed to get there, we’re here to support you.
Once an internal carbon footprint has been measured and reduced, we can support members to offset any unavoidable emissions through offsetting projects around the world. In doing so, members can support some of the most effective and impactful offsetting projects on the planet.Find out more
When you purchase goods or services for your business or your customers travel to your location, you are indirectly responsible for the associated carbon emissions; but do you know how much they are? In many cases, these are the largest share of your carbon footprint. Some of these are already included in your certification to The Planet Mark, such as business travel, waste, and paper procurement. To do a complete analysis of your Scope 3 emissions, we would consider which of all of the 15 categories are relevant to your business, consult on the best method of gathering data, then analyse the results to create your Scope 3 carbon footprint.
What is more valuable to society: your team volunteering to do a beach clean-up or a director providing pro bono advice to a charity? To quantify this, we can put a financial number on social activities which will give you a way to strategically improve their value over time. This type of reporting demonstrates a holistic and truer measure of your positive contributions to society and improves trust with employees, investors, and customers.
We can help you comply by the new mandatory Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) framework. Download our guide to SECR to find out more.
The ZeroBy30 programme goes beyond Planet Mark certification targets. It sets absolute reduction goals to reach net zero carbon by 2030 through a transformational action plan. You will be able to reduce your scope 1 and 2 direct emissions to zero carbon, and scope 3 indirect emissions to as close to zero as possible and then offset the remaining carbon through exceptional schemes.Find out more
Available to Planet Mark members, this programme gives business leaders the tools and knowledge to create a credible net zero carbon action plan that is reviewed by our certification team. Open to members and non-members, this is our carefully curated 3h crash-course in business sustainability. It covers the fundamentals of business sustainability and encourages participants to explore why and how sustainability relates to their business. Led by two of our Engagement Managers, this interactive session addresses some of the key questions businesses need to be asking themselves: Where do the biggest impacts of a business come from? Where are the biggest opportunities for cutting carbon emissions and increasing social value? How can you best engage employees and colleagues in sustainability? Participants leave equipped to identify sustainability opportunities and receive workshop assets to use during and after the session.
This interactive 1 hour workshop is aimed at all employees of a Planet Mark member organisation. It introduces the business case for sustainability and encourages participants to understand your company’s carbon footprint. A brainstorming session invites participants to identify solutions to cut carbon and increase social value. It’s a great opportunity to engage green teams as well as the wider team and often acts as a springboard for greater sustainability engagement.
This 2 hour workshop supports key individuals from your organisation to create an Annual Sustainability Plan. During this session one of our Engagement Managers will facilitate and support your team to help identify key focus areas to address in the coming year, discuss initiatives and make a plan of action to reduce carbon emissions and increase sustainability.
We offer this service to support businesses who seek to bring sustainability to the very core of their organisation. Our role here is to work with you to identify where you want your organisation to be on the sustainability journey in 3-5 years from now; help you identify what issues to address in what order; set goals and establish a plan to achieve them.
We start by analysing your business strategy and competitors. Then we work with you to create a sustainability strategy that focuses on the issues that matter most to your business. This will allow you to achieve consistent progress and create Total Business Value – social, environmental, and economic.
We provide a bespoke sustainability vision, a strategy framework with long term goals, and recommendations on governance and visualisation of the strategy. We also provide a strategy tracker tool to plan progress and give advice on how to engage your people so they stay motivated.

Engaging your stakeholders is a crucial part of the sustainability journey and addressing Scope 3 emissions will require close collaboration with your suppliers. This 30min-45min session is an opportunity for Planet Mark Mmembers to engage their stakeholders with Planet Mark facilitating a conversation and acting as the ‘expert voice’, giving weight to the presentation and expert insight on your certification and commitment to cutting carbon. This is a chance to inspire your supply chain into action and to help you cut your Scope 3 emissions.
If you need targeted support to engage your staff with sustainability alongside your sustainability action plan, we can help. Our 1 hour employee engagement workshop gives key individuals in your organisations the tools and creative ideas for ways in which you can generate a culture of sustainability across your organisation. Typically, this workshop would include members from HR, your sustainability manager, and/or your green team.
Why does your business exist? Understanding your business’ purpose will strengthen trust in your brand and create value for all. In this workshop, your team will learn how businesses have used purpose to generate sustained profitable growth, stay relevant in a rapidly changing world, deepen ties with stakeholders and help with unifying and motivating your employees. You’ll receive a bespoke report with recommendations on a purpose statement and guidance on how to implement purpose in your company.
Do you have a plan to tell the story of your sustainability journey with transparency? Too often companies are achieving great things for people and the planet, but nobody knows about it or they don’t know how to communicate them effectively. Designed for your communication team and sustainability champions, this workshop will get under the skin of your brand and give you the skills to embed sustainability messages into all your communications. You’ll receive a bespoke 1-year sustainability communications plan, with tactics and metrics to help you create two-way conversations and increase your transparency over time. We can also take this a step further to conduct a 3-year communication strategy where we review your current communication channels and messages, map and engage your external stakeholders, and establish a detailed trajectory for all your sustainability communications.
Is your brand known for the good sustainability work you do? Is it acknowledged by your customers, employees and investors? By building sustainability thinking into your identity, you will be better placed to achieve your goals and build a recognised positive brand. We start by helping your communication team understand the intent of your sustainability strategy. Then we create visuals and messaging that will bring it to life. You will also receive a bespoke ‘palette of language’ that will help you with consistency in all your future communications.
Are you consistently reporting your sustainability progress with transparency and integrity? Doing so will build stakeholder trust, increase industry collaboration, and ensure employee ownership. We can help you create an annual sustainability report that clearly shows your progress against long-term goals while bringing it to life through a coherent theme, impactful storytelling, and beautiful designs. Through expert research, we can also develop thought leadership pieces that will propel your business to the forefront of innovation.
Do your sustainability stories get noticed? By using your reach and influence to inspire action, you will spark positive change and ensure your brand is recognised. The medium is as important as the message. We aim to bring creativity and clarity to your communications, underpinned by a genuine understanding of your strategic intent and your stakeholders’ motivations. We can produce a variety of outputs including filmed videos, animations, campaigns, social media content, advertising, reports, brochures, press releases, posters and more; all with the aim of changing behaviours and building trust.
